Most of these are bought by some of the super powers of the present world by paying huge sums of money. My today's post lists down some of the most expensive military air planes to date.

Top Military Planes!

So folks below are some of the most expensive military planes present to date.

1) The "B-2 Spirit"!

This is the most expensive military plane present which costs around $2.4 billion. Because of its such a huge price, congress back in 1987 had to reduce its purchase order to just 21 and at present there are 20 planes present of this type. Its most advanced features include its hard detectability any radar system or any visual system. This plane is i use sine 1993 and is used both in wars against Iraq and Afghanistan.

2) The "F-22 Raptor"!

At number 2 we have the F-22 Raptor which costs almost around $350 million. Created during the era of cold war, it is still considered as the best combat plane ever made as it can easily destroy enemy cruise missiles and fly to long distances at super sonic speeds. Not only this it can avoid all sorts of radar detection pretty easily.

3) The "C17A Globemaster III"!

This plane is not particularly a bomber jet type of plane. Its costs around $328 million. There are almost 190 planes of this type serving the army. This plane is used to deploy troops and transport war material to the war zones and also to perform medical evacuations in war struck areas. Not only this, it also conducts air drop missions and can drop around 120 paratroopers at once. Powered by 4 powerful turbofan engines, this plane is in use since 1993 and has conducted numerous operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

4) The "P-8A Poseidon"!

This is Boeing's spruced-up military version of its 737 model which costs around $290 million. It will basically be used by navy to transport anti submarine warfare as it can easily carry torpedoes, missiles, depth charges and other weapons. This plane is expected to go into service in 2013.

5) The "VH-71 Kestrel"!

VH-71 Kestrel is at number 5 of the list with a cost of almost around $241 million. This is one of the most high tech and most powerful helicopters ever designed and made. The intention behind its formation was to replace it with the old presidents fleet, but due to large manufacturing cost this plan was rejected. However, this plan was unanimously accepted and passed back on July 22 this year.

6) The "E-2D Advanced Hawkeye"!

On number 6 we have the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye with cost of around $232 million. It is one of the most high tech planes ever created with the most advanced radar system. Through this plane, the radar monitoring is improved to almost 300% and is used for monitoring as it can detect the smallest possible thing and are currently in use by the navy for surveillance purposes.

7) The "F-35 Lightning II"!

F-35 Lightning II costs around $122 million. It is indeed one of the most powerful bomber jets ever made and was the largest military contract ever made. Although it was criticised as being over weight and unpowered, and was prone to attacks of its design copy, it still has taken part in many missions.

8) The "V-22 Osprey"!

This is yet again one of the most high tech designed planes ever made having a cost of around $122 million. Its most unique feature is its ability to take-off and land any where like a helicopter but fly and cover longer distances much fastly. Although its formation is a much complex procedure due to its design, many attempts have been made to ground again. Back in 2007 is has served in the Iraq combat, the marine corps find it much feasible and plan to deploy a V-22's squadron in Afghanistan by the end of this year.

9) The "EA-18G Growler"!

On number 9 we have the EA-18G Growler which costs around $102 million. To date, it is considered as one of the most light weight war aircraft's currently used by the navy. The best feature it holds is its ability to not only destroy enemies war heads and radar systems but also jam all sorts of communication linkages, destroying it to bits.

10) The "F/A-18 Hornet"!

F/A-18 Hornet is at number 10 with around a cost of $94 million. It is USA's one of the very first striking air planes that came into service in 1980's. This twin engine fighter has the ability to strike ground and aerial targets both at the same time totally destroying its enemy. It has taken part in numerous missions and demonstrations and is currently used by Canada, Australia, Finland, Kuwait, Malaysia, Spain and Switzerland.
